It doesn’t matter weather you are using a single reception dish such as the Dish 300 or a multi reception Dish such as the Dish 500 or 1000 ect… you still need to be aware of what satellite you are trying to tune in. Engineers have calculated the correct settings such as the azimuth elevation and skew for DishNetwork and DirecTV Multi Satellite Dishes, based on a plumb pole. For instance a Dish 500 Satellite Located in Metropolis IL would need to set @ AZ-223 EL-38 Skew-119 to pick up both 110 and 119 Satellites Simultaneously; however you are actually looking at each Satellite separately- Satellite 110 = AZ-212 and EL-41 and Satellite 119 = AZ-223 and EL-36 therefore you will need to shoot two separate sites to make sure both satellites are clear. That said here are the settings needed as well as some tools used to find the correct location for your dish or dishes in some cases.
